Best Practice Medicine's EMT program is highly regarded for its rigor, immersive hand-on instruction, and leading passing rates on the NREMT National Exam. Our comprehensive program is designed to prepare you to be an exceptional entry level EMT. Broken down into weekly sessions of instruction over a 13-week period our course includes in depth exploration of body systems and anatomy, the fundamentals of care for trauma patients, investigation into medical emergencies, guest lectures from subject matter experts, live and hands-on emergency operations practice, and so much more!

Our course is a hybrid model that will consist of a 3 day onsite kick off that will include your CPR course, an introduction to skills and multiple lectures.  Live online lectures will take place Tuesday's and Thursday's for 4 hours a night.  Week 4, 7, and 10 will consist of in person skills labs Saturday's and Sunday's from 8am to 5pm and you will be required to be on campus for these days.  The final week will include a proctored final exam, skills prep, and skills testing for a total of 3 days.  To successfully complete the class, it will be mandatory to complete the online lecture requirement, in person skills labs, and clinical (in field) hours.

Cameron Bradley Flathead Campus Manager

Cameron is a proud native Montanan, Raised in South Central Montana he made his way to the Flathead Valley where He found his love of Emergency Services. He has served his community as a swift water rescue technician, Dive Rescue specialist, Firefighter both structural and wildland and Paramedic. Cameron obtained his EMT license in 2009, finding a calling for taking care of sick and injured people he sought out and obtained a degree in Paramedicine in 2011. Cameron currently serves as a Firefighter Paramedic with Bigfork Fire Department and as the Campus Manager for Best Practice Medicine.


Abbie Miller Medical Education Instructor

Abbie was raised in Bull Lake Montana where she found a love of community service. She served and currently still is a member of Bull Lake Fire District. Abbie is a firefighter both structural and wildland, she has obtained the rank of Engine Boss and Captain. She currently serves her community working full time for Kalispell Fire Department, Part Time for Evergreen Fire Department, volunteers with Bull Lake Fire District and is the EMT course lead for Best Practice Medicine.


Terri Shively Medical Education Instructor

Terri is a Simulation Team Specialist assigned to the Western Team in Montana. Terri is a native of Montana and has lived and worked in EMS all over the state. Receiving her degree in Emergency Medical Services in Great Falls, Montana she worked for a local ambulance service while obtaining her paramedic degree. Shortly after school, she was invited to assist owners that purchased an ambulance service from the local hospital in Hamilton, Montana. She was given the title of Director of Operations, responsible for ambulance response and personnel for four cities of the Bitterroot Valley. In 2004, she moved up to Flathead County and served as a Paramedic/Firefighter at Big Mountain Fire for 10 years. She was awarded opportunities to serve on various services such as the A.L.E.R.T air medical transport program based out of Kalispell Regional Hospital where she spent 11 years as a flight medic. Terri Currently Serves as a Flight Paramedic in Elko Nevada, Narcan Master Trainer instructor and educator for Best Practice Medicine

Course and Study Commitment:

It is estimated that you will spend over 60 hours in the virtual classroom , 108 hours in the in person classroom,  80+ hours of self study, and an additional 24 clinical hours for patient observation. To say the least, this course is INTENSE and moves very quickly! It requires MATURITY, DEDICATION, and plenty of extra STUDY time. We suggest that for every classroom hour you attend, you commit an additional hour of outside study time.

Attendance is required. You may not miss more than two excused lecture session and none of the in-person time can be missed. You must pass all the course with minimum score of 80%.

If you fail two exams- including retests you will be dropped from this course.  There will be NO REFUND for students dropped from the course.

To register for this course you must provide proof of current immunizations: measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis(Tdap). 

Provide proof of a current TB test (less than 6 months old)
