Nick Hammond Lead Instructor

With over two decades of experience in emergency medical services and a distinguished 32-year military career, Nick Hammond brings a unique blend of practical, real-world expertise and scenario-based teaching to his work as an EMS educator. A native of Sparks, Nevada, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Education from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Nick's extensive military service began in 1992 as a Combat Engineer, later adding a second specialty as a Combat Medic. His exceptional skills led him to serve as a Flight Medic with Charlie Company, 1-168th GSAB, where he flew over 235 missions and logged 292 combat hours in Afghanistan. During his service, he was awarded the prestigious Sikorsky Winged-S Rescue Award for a life-saving rescue, one of many he performed for the 314 patients he treated.

As a civilian, Nick's EMS career began with REMSA in 1999. He advanced from an EMT-Basic to a Paramedic and held roles as an EMS Dispatch-Certified Professional, Field Training Officer, and Ground Supervisor. He is a certified instructor in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, sharing his vast knowledge with the next generation of medical professionals.

Nick believes his greatest gift is the ability to share knowledge with others, and he attributes his success to the unwavering support of his family. His hands-on experience in both combat and civilian settings is the foundation for his practical, engaging teaching style.
